Rosalind is a naval architect specialising in salvage, wreck removal and shipping incident investigations. As well as having given written and oral expert evidence in court she also has recent experience providing technical advice on a number of complex and politically sensitive salvage and wreck removal operations worldwide.
Her work has included development of salvage specifications and management of the bid evaluation process in addition to overseeing the operation itself. She is particularly experienced in dealing with seriously damaged large container vessels following grounding or collision, including the practical aspects relating to discharge of damaged containers from flooded holds, management of structural condition and refloating operations.
Previously working in offshore design, Rosalind has a strong technical background in complex hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analyses with significant experience in offshore installations, moorings, ocean transport, motion analyses and metocean studies.

Master Mariner STCW’95 A II/2
Ken is an experienced master mariner with extensive seagoing experience on container, bulk carrier, general cargo and offshore support vessels. He has had command as well as other management and training roles in the offshore sector on conventional and DP vessels as well as working on salvage tugs and ice breaking supply vessels.
He later worked in the salvage industry becoming a salvage master where he also developed his expertise in casualty naval architecture. Ken then managed the salvage arm of a major international contractor in Singapore. He was involved with a number of large salvage projects where rapid response, evaluation of casualty damage and residual strength, contract negotiations, operational and budget control, pollutant and cargo removal and storage, chartering of vessels and the monitoring of all salvage assets were all part of his daily routine.
He now heads up the Singapore office of Solis where he brings his years of experience in the region and knowledge of the maritime markets in South East Asia to assist our established and growing client base.

Sjoerd is an experienced master mariner and has many years’ experience with heavy lift/project cargo vessels having combined lifting capacities up to 1400 tonnes. Graduating as maritime officer in the Netherlands he also obtained a certificate of competency as second engineer up to 3000kW under the dual discipline certification before continuing his career as a deck officer.
He has worked in all ranks, including chief officer and also had command as master on a wide range of vessel types engaged in worldwide delivery voyages. With later experience as a ship delivery superintendent assisting client/owners with the vessel’s final acceptance and as a marine surveyor where he has investigated cargo and machinery issues on behalf of owners, charterers and insurers.
During his sea going career and his more recent shore based role as cargo superintendent, he gained extensive experience with planning, approval, warranty, loading, securing, carriage and discharge of many types of heavy and oversized cargoes as well as associated breakbulk cargoes.

Neil has had many years of experience as master of various offshore vessel types working in the oil and gas industry worldwide. His experience includes providing support for tankers during offtake operations at SBM facilities, vessels engaged in ROV and seismic operations, and has also included ice navigation in the Sea of Okhotsk.
In addition he brings a solid background of working with modern bridge systems including ECDIS, DP station keeping and all onboard operations.
His work with oil and gas projects has involved towage of all types of oil rigs and barges, anchor handling and rig shifting. He has also assisted many vessel types during berthing and unberthing, including dead ship tows, whilst master of a harbour tug based in Cape Town as well as attending during the berthing and unberthing of very large tankers at the port of Saldanha, South Africa.
He has experience as a project manager for a salvage contractor engaged in the oil removal from a sunken WWII oil tanker off St Helena Island. He was able to complete those tasks whilst working to a tight budget with time constraints in a very remote location.
His earlier experience as a watch keeping officer was gained whilst trading worldwide on bulk carriers, container vessels and general cargo ships.

Mike is a master mariner with extensive experience both at sea and ashore and has recent command experience on Supramax bulk carriers. He has both marine consultancy and surveying and experience from the shoreside positions he has held.
Mike first sailed as a deck officer with Unicorn Lines and served on various vessel types including bulk carriers, breakbulk vessels, product tankers up to 40,000 DWT, and Ro-Ro’s.
Mike gained significant experience as a marine surveyor and marine consultant while working ashore in South Africa. He has dealt with break bulk cargoes, liquid cargoes including bunkers, crude oil and chemicals, as well as cargo lashing and P&I condition surveys. Mike received accreditation as Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Petroleum Services surveyor and has experience supervising ship-to-ship (STS) transfers on VLCC’s.
Mike has received instructions from various P&I Clubs and solicitors and travelled extensively across Africa, Europe, South America, and Asia, where he has undertaken investigations into marine incidents and has provided both written and oral expert testimony to arbitration tribunals. Mike has a particular interest in navigation and his recent command experience combined with his knowledge of ECDIS and electronic ship systems has proved to be invaluable.
In addition, Mike led the establishment of cadet recruitment, career development and mentoring programs at Unicorn Shipping. This combination of experience has given Mike a broad understanding of the influence of the human element on both marine practices and shipping incidents.
Mike is an integral member of Solis Marine’s global team of marine consultants and assists with expanding our footprint as he is based in Southern Africa. He brings his long and diverse experience in the region and will be providing professional services to Solis Marine’s clients in the region.

Fangxu is the Engineering Manager at Solis Marine Engineering Pte Ltd, the engineering division of the Solis Marine Group, providing engineering, design and analysis services to the offshore and maritime, renewables industries and green shipping. Fangxu’s work includes hydrodynamic analysis, stability analysis, mooring strength and fatigue analysis, offloading analysis, riser and umbilical analysis, engineering design, project management and planning.
He has delivered many challenging large-scale permanent installation projects and FPSO mooring system design and installation projects. Upon graduating with a Master of Science in Offshore Technology in 2013 from the National University of Singapore, he then worked as a Naval Architect at PAPE Engineering for six years and has extensive knowledge of mooring system design for FSO / FPSO and derrick barges, SURF (subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines) installation, structural design, pipe laying design and dynamic position system design.
In 2019 Fangxu joined London Marine Consultants Asia Pacific where he worked extensively in design, engineering, project management and interface roles for mooring and riser designs for FPSO and offshore installation projects, which include numerous technically challenging projects in the deep water and tropical storm regions. This work involved project management, mooring and riser system design, stability analysis, offloading availability analysis, cost estimation, and scope of work definition.

Eugene is responsible for providing marine engineering as well as salvage consultancy to the group, this includes attendance for marine salvage and wreck removal projects.
Eugene also provides support to marine underwriters for hull and machinery claims, he is able to undertake detailed surveys of marine equipment and machinery as well as investigations relating to mechanical damage.
As Chief Engineer, Eugene worked on various anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS), including DP2 vessels ranging from 7,000 to 18,000 BHP. Work undertaken included pre-laying of 22 tonne anchors in deep water, anchor handling for pipe laying barges and static towing of FPSO’s as well as general offshore anchor handling and towing operations for offshore projects.
Eugene also sailed as Chief Engineer on DP2 Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) with 690V General Electric and ABB diesel electric propulsion systems driving azimuth thrusters.
