Solis Marine’s SCRs have extensive experience working alongside all interests in salvage and wreck removal operations providing an essential service to shipowners, insurers and salvors during salvage operations under the Lloyds Open Form (LOF) where the SCOPIC clause has been invoked.
SCRs are selected for their expertise by a committee formed of representatives from the International Group of P&I clubs, the International Salvage Union, the International Union of Marine Insurers and the International Chamber of Shipping.
The role of the SCR is to “monitor the salvage services and liabilities and provide a Final Salvage Report which forms the basis for the settlement of any claim for SCOPIC remuneration which the salvor might have against the shipowner.” (Guidelines for Special Casualty Representatives, www.lloyds.com)
