Solis Marine Consultants
Solis Marine was established in the UK and Singapore in 2012 to provide independent expert advice on maritime and shipping incidents. The company expanded to Hong Kong in 2013 and continues to maintain strong connections in Hong Kong following many years’ experience working there.
In 2017 Solis Marine expanded in mainland China, opening in Shanghai, followed by Qingdao and Xiamen in 2018. These offices are supported by a team of six experts providing general survey services and incident response in these areas.
In 2020 Solis Marine opened its first office in continental Europe in Rotterdam, introducing a global Fire and Chemicals emergency response operation and risk assessment to our suite of services.
Senior consultants within the company have all given expert evidence in court or arbitration and Solis Marine also has three Special Casualty Representatives on the panel at Lloyd’s who have been heavily involved in a number of high profile and politically sensitive wreck removal and salvage operations.
Our team of Naval Architects all have practical salvage and wreck removal experience working both on behalf of vessel owners / insurers as well as for salvors directly.
Expert reports have been prepared for court and arbitration hearings on collisions, groundings, tugs and manoeuvring, unsafe ports and berths, cargo issues, passage planning, fire, chemical and oil spill response, personal injury, vessel operations, prudent seamanship and damage to submarine pipelines.
Our sister company, Solis Marine Engineering, was established in 2018 and is headquartered in Falmouth, UK and Singapore. Solis Marine Engineering is the centre of our marine engineering, research and design excellence.
In 2021 Solis Marine formed the Alliance network to further grow our global reach, providing dedicated, local support to our activities in the field and introducing new areas of expertise and additional resources into the Group.
We have since entered into agreements with carefully selected providers of expert services to the shipping and offshore sectors and although we remain independent organisations, we refer to each member of the network as a partner. All of our Alliance partners share Solis Marine’s commitment to the highest levels of service on behalf of our clients.
