Master Mariner STCW II/2.1
Jeff is a master mariner with an MSc in Shipping Operations and has significant experience in both shipping and the oil and gas industries.
He is a lead auditor for ISM, MLC, ISPS inspections and for Integrated Management Systems to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 for a number of Korean owners and is qualified by DNV GL as a Designated Person Ashore (DPA). He has also carried out navigational audits and assessments on all types of craft which has included the vetting of vessels for a leading maritime risk management and environmental assessment organisation.
Jeff has been the on-site marine warranty project manager, based in South Korea, for a number of major oil and gas projects which required extensive planning and approval for towing operations to effect deliveries from the shipyard. The towages included both conventional and dead ship vessels, tug and barge combinations and FPSO’s. Jeff was also the marine warranty project manager for the transportation of two 6,000 tonne LNG modules via the northern sea route through the Bering Straits during winter.
Jeff has also been a Rightship accredited vetting inspector since 2009 and an approved Antigua and Barbuda Flag State Nautical Inspector since 2011.
As a watchkeeping officer, Jeff has experience of container vessels, bulk carriers, general cargo ships, offshore support and seismic survey vessels up to the rank of chief officer.
As an English speaker, Jeff is also fluent in Afrikaans and has a working level knowledge of Korean.
