Solis Marine Engineering expands its consultancy services within the offshore renewables and shipping related industries
Solis Marine Engineering Ltd, part of the Solis Marine Group, has added to its team of Naval Architects as the company continues to expand its services within the offshore renewables and clean shipping related industries.
Joining the company, which is based out of Falmouth in the UK, is Naval Architect Syafiqah Binti Shafiq Lee who will enhance Solis Marine Engineering’s engineering, design and analysis services.
Lee joins from KBR Inc where she worked on design projects for offshore platforms in the Caspian Sea, carried out a feasibility study for Singapore’s LNG jetty and worked on design development of offshore renewable facilities.
Lee is a former research associate at Newcastle University where she gained a Master of Engineering in Offshore Engineering in 2016. Her research projects covered the effect of wind and tide on fuel consumption.
Lee began her marine career as an Engine Cadet on container ships in Malaysia. She joins Oliver Short, Patrick Faas and Solis Marine Engineering MD Simon Hindley, delivering a wide range of engineering projects including the design of innovative vessels and marine tools which advance clean technology in the marine sector.
Founded in 2018, Solis Marine Engineering’s clients include the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Ocean Infinity, Keynvor Morlift, Armada, Subsea Energy Solutions, WITT, Inyanga, Ballistic RIBS, Makai Ocean Engineering, Parnall and Submarine Technology Ltd.
MD Simon Hindley said: “Syafiqah joins a growing number of Naval Architects at Solis Marine Engineering who are working towards the advancement of modern technology and design which progresses the development of marine renewable energy and clean shipping, helping to reduce pollution and cut carbon emissions.
