At Solis Marine we are looking forward to a busy LISW, and we are pleased to advise that we will be participating in the following events over the course of the week:

WISTA UK Conference (Monday 9th September) – ‘Electronic Evidence: Smart Working in Practice’

To be opened by Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan and closed by Minister for Shipping, Nusrat Ghani, this event will explore the opportunities and challenges in the development and implementation of autonomous entities including ships, robotics and automation. Solis Marine’s Managing Partner, Ros Blazejczyk, will be speaking at this event and will present a case study for the ‘Electronic Evidence: Smart Working in Practice’ session at 15:00.

DFT Technology Showcase (Wednesday 11th September)

On the Wednesday of LISW, there will be an exciting Technology Showcase and a reception led by the Department for Transport that will feature the best of maritime technology and innovation from a variety of British maritime companies. Richard Meikle and Duncan Campbell of Solis Marine will be hosting a display including a rolling video of some of our reconstruction work using AIS data. MariTrace, Solis Marine’s main data provider, will also be demonstrating their wider AIS data services. The showcase will take place on board RFA Lyme Bay at Greenwich Pier.

Women in Shipping Summit (Tuesday 10th – Wednesday 11th September)

Covering topics from empowerment to action, this two-day summit will focus on the unique challenges women face in the shipping industry. The event will feature a line-up of some of the most impressive names in shipping, both men and women, who will relate some of their stories of their personal journeys through the industry. On Tuesday 10th September Ros Blazejczyk will be discussing maternity challenges as a small business owner and as a technical consultant in the maritime industry and sharing some first-hand experiences. Themes such as travel, working offshore, client perceptions and managing leave will be explored.
